the eternal question

kevynryan:

is it bath time or nap time?

when it comes down to this, I decide it’s beer time instead.

I LOVE THIS. CURVES=WOMAN.

I’m really sick of seeing stupid memes like this clogging up my internet feeds. As a NATURALLY AND HEALTHFULLY SKINNY (very VERY skinny) woman, I am offended at the lack of respect women of my own peer set give each other when it comes to body image. Neither row of photographs of women look unhealthy. In fact, I’m certain there are SEVERAL large/curvy/big-boned women represented as viable sex symbols in the media today! Often times, skinny women are made out to be UNHEALTHY and therefor undesirable. This viral internet photo is only a representation of personal discontent and general insecurities with one’s own body image. In reality, we should be supporting our sisters of all shapes and sizes for their individual femininity… not damning some for the body image they represent. The media, in general, has it all wrong in a lot of ways… this has been known for a long time. Don’t continue the vicious cycle of woman hating woman for what the media has shown us. Be healthy and supportive regardless of your “disposition”. We’re all women, nothing about our bodies makes us more or less of a woman than the next.
